At e-conomic we utilize the public cloud for some of our services. This includes the Debitoor and e-conomic.se websites.

On Saturday, one of our providers announced maintenance on their infrastructure that will have direct impact on us. In theory, there is a small chance that we will see downtime on our Debitoor websites and e-conomic.se during:

Monday September 29^th from 9pm to Tuesday September 30^th 7am CEST.
(In practice, we do not think we will notice.)

As Rackspace has chosen not to disclose what they are patching, we are guessing they are patching for a vulnerability in the Xen hypervisor being used in their infrastructure. We will monitor the situation and remediate if anything should come up.

Another vulnerability receiving a lot of media attention these days is “Shellshock”. I am happy to announce that the e-conomic and Debitoor websites are already patched, even though our systems were not directly at risk with the currently disclosed information. You can read more about Shell Shock here.

Please note, it is ONLY websites and will not have any impact on the applications.
